All of models
below are work I've done for the MichLTC display at the 2001 Great American
Train Show--Novi Expo Center, January 13-14.

McDonald's
November/December
2000
Ever since Lego came
out with their McDonald's, I've wanted to do a more realistic one. When
this is finished it will have an interior--one of the few I'm doing for
Michigan GATS 2001 that will. Notice the drive-thru in the bottom photo.

Gas Station
December 2000
This gas station,
while not based on any one building, represents an art deco gas station
from the 1920s.
While a few changes and updates have been made over the years, it maintains
its character as an Art Deco building. Sadly, I have no gas station baseplate,
but a simple roadplate does the trick.

Bank
November 2000
This is a semi-Greek
Revival bank from the mid-19th century. This model is also based on no
one example. The Greek facade fronting a red-brick building, the inclusion
of arches, and other features are typical of the Greek Revival in small-town
America.

Signal Tower
November 2000
This is a typical
signal tower from the
late 19th century. Obviously it has been well-kept up over the years..

Skyscraper
December 2000
This is a 9-story
office building. Originally I was going to have a helicopter that flew
around the middle; while I got the mechanism to work, I had too many problems
with binding gears. I may still make a helicopter fly around the top.
